Luke Pell works in between and on the edges of disciplines, in response to environment. Fascinated by detail, nuances of time, texture, memory and landscape. Noticing threads that weave between people and place, he creates intimate encounters in a certain light – from tenderness to violence – where thoughts and bodies shift between the ordinary and the ethereal.
Performance maker, curator and facilitator, his practice attends to notions of alterity, periphery, community and transformation. Alongside his performance practice he works with other artists and organisations imagining alternative contexts for performance, participation and discourse, that might reveal wisdoms for living.
